While very serious, what happened at Silicon Valley Bank<\/strong>[here<\/a> and here<\/a> from the NYTimes] will not affect either your company or your job. <\/p>\n\n

Unless you fall into one of these scenarios for which it is right to be concerned:<\/p>\n\n

  1. You work in a tech company in the U.S.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Your main customers are American tech companies<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. You have invested in American companies<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. You invested in crypto<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n

    This is just noise. <\/p>\n\n

    Not solving your company’s problems will have far greater consequences. <\/p>\n\n

    This note is for those of us who remain focused on what we can control.<\/p>\n\n

    John Doerr has released a 4-week course<\/strong> and it is beautifully done!<\/p>\n\n

    If you want to learn OKRs from the people who made them famous, you can do so today. <\/p>\n\n

    It is based on his book, Measure What Matters<\/a>. The one with which most of us fell in love with this powerful goal-setting methodology. <\/p>\n\n

    There are more than 24 hours of videos, materials to read and exercises to complete.<\/p>\n\n

    Why am I strongly recommending this course?<\/h2>\n\n

    For three reasons. <\/p>\n\n

    1\/ As I said before it is beautifully done and worth your time.<\/p>\n\n

    2\/ Soon working for goals will be the main benefit every company offers to attract talent.<\/strong> Have you noticed how frequently it appears in job descriptions? Here’s an example: Satispay in this LinkedIn post<\/a> from over 200 reactions attracts candidates who no longer want to be stifled by bad management. “Have you always wanted to work in an open, goal-oriented, growth-oriented company?” I would be amazed at the opposite… It is the most talented people who ask to work with OKRs! <\/p>\n\n

    3\/ Your team is probably already training on this topic with low-cost<\/em>, low-quality<\/em> courses that are available online today. Fragmented, unclear and blatantly imported concepts. This one by John Doerr is the gold standard<\/em>. I not only recommend that you take this course yourself but that all your colleagues can do so. All the more because it costs nothing! <\/p>\n\n

    From bedside table to desk<\/h2>\n\n

    Knowing the basic concepts of the methodology, will take reading MAKE PROGRESS with OKRs<\/a> (use code STRTGY20 to get the dedicated community discount) to a whole different level. Guaranteed. <\/p>\n\n

    Although I have made every effort to make the book simple and enjoyable for those new to OKRs, this is a power user<\/strong>‘s book. For those who want to move quickly from theory to action<\/strong>.When I am affectionately told that it has been put on the bedside table, I feel compelled to invite you to choose something lighter before falling asleep and move it to your desk.<\/strong> That’s where you can really change things! Some people thank me and we meet to practically go over a few concepts. <\/p>\n\n

    From theory to action<\/h2>\n\n

    Without a strategy any goal will be so generalist that it will get you nowhere except to stand dangerously still, for too long, in the same place.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

    And apparently from this survey<\/a>, not having a strategy, seems to be a very common strategy! Seriously, don’t do it! <\/p>\n\n

    I called STRTGY, so, for a reason. To make strategy, its conception, its execution, its measurement, the most energizing activity anyone can do in the company. So here’s what I thought. <\/p>\n\n
