Michele Zanini is co-founder of Management Lab. Together with Gary Hamel, Zanini helps future-oriented organizations become more resilient, innovative and engaging workplaces. Previously, Zanini was an associate partner at McKinsey & Company and a leader in the firm’s organization, strategy, and financial services.
He left Europe for the United States in 1994 to attend Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government, where he graduated with a master’s degree in public policy in 1996. He then moved to Santa Monica, California, and earned a Ph.D. in policy analysis from the Pardee RAND Graduate School.
Zanini has been an associate partner at McKinsey & Company and a leader in the firm’s organization, strategy and financial services practices.
He spent five years as a policy analyst at the RAND Corporation, a public policy think tank. In the mid-1990s he conducted research on how terrorists and other insurgent groups were exploiting information-age technologies to operate as agile networks.
Over the years, he has written a number of articles on strategy and organization for McKinsey Quarterly. His writings and research have been published in the Harvard Business Review, the Financial Times and Fortune.
He currently lives in Boston with his wife and three daughters.
