Welcome backə!

This is the second email in the series I announced yesterday.

One for each level of the strategy for which I have reported key actions and KPIs to be considered for the 2022 Action Plan.

If you are not the person “accountable” for this strategic level, feel freeə to forward this message. He will thank you.

I purposely used the word “accountable” because there is a clear difference with the word “responsible,” which in Italian is unfortunately confused many times. I talked about it here №92.

TL;DR While they are all “accountable” for behaving according to the interests of the group only some people are incentivized to be accountable for the results. These people, to be truly “accountable,” also need access to resources to change the situation.

However, the best performing teams are not only those that have a clear awareness of their responsibilities and the accountability of some members but also manage to exchange information with higher quality and speed even among different teams.

Therefore, it is important not to take these notes as stand-alone information for each individual level but to consider them as a puzzle that makes sense only if each individual piece is joined with the others.

Today we are talking about Products.

Tomorrow we will deal with Trials.

ALWAYS MAKE PROGRESS

-Antonio

PRODUCTS / Follow the money

Frictionless

Regardless of how exciting the new things you are creating are, without money you are not going anywhere. If the product isn’t up to par, sales can’t work miracles.

Teams that say they do Design Thinking scramble so hard to interview customers and users to figure out what to change run the risk of making users happy but their own pockets empty!

But they are already sitting on a mine of invaluable information and are already in the company: the Sales and Customer Care (and/or Customer Success) teams.

What is that 20 percent of features that drive 80 percent of purchasing decisions?

It uses the framework of the JTDB to interview and reverse engineer positive experiences that have already occurred. Eliminate problems and double-down on what works.

We know that the way we designers are made, the perfect product will never be ready, but in these early days make sure that no one can have any excuse to block the resources you will need throughout the year to innovate.
