Hey, happy Monday!
Check out this photograph I took while listening to Matteo Preziotti, Founder of Easypol, speak at BACKSTAGE in Rome.

Like many leaders, Matteo began reading classic American books translated into Italian, sensing that OKRs could be the ideal tool to guide his company’s growth. Driven by enthusiasm, he ventured into a double flip: translating the concepts to educate the team and adopting them on his own. Unfortunately, things did not work out.
As the company grew in revenue and number of customers, so did entropy due to the speed of execution and the launch of new projects and experiments without a system to understand what really contributed to growth and what could be eliminated to free up time.
“We had 3 different business models to coordinate and different products. With a small team, it’s as if each of us had to manage an entire startup by ourselves: unsustainable.” – MP
But he did not give up. OKRs seemed fundamental but impossible to implement until he met our yellow booklet discovering a solid, structured process that would solve the problems that were keeping the company on the brakes:
- visibility and distribution of the strategy
- Identification of a few key metrics
- prioritization of activities
- connection with working tools
- separation of strategy and project management
- meeting management
- lack of time for priorities
- acceleration of growth
Strategy is the most exciting task for any leader, but also the most complex because the outcome depends not only on one’s talent or motivation but above all on the ability to lead the team clearly and precisely and energetically.
“You either do OKRs or you die.” For Matthew and his team, OKRs were no longer an option but a strong belief that they would be the right tool to quickly achieve two important results: business acceleration and simplification.
Easypol today is a Progress Driven company after a challenging implementation journey that was not without its twists and turns, MAKE PROGRESS is now used daily by teams to execute without distraction the strategy by which they decided to establish themselves in the market and grow.
Want to see all the tools in action? I have provided a calendar to choose a time together to talk about your progress.

Next stop: Padua

I cannot give spoilers but I can anticipate that on March 14 we will meet in Padua at Uqido Headquarters for a very special BACKSTAGE to which I will devote a newsletter to tell you the details.
All BACKSTAGE is unique and the content is never repeated, rather it evolves around the core methodology and gets deeper and deeper. As I tour Italy with my team, I collect success stories of companies that with commitment and passion are transforming their approach to strategy.
At STRTGY we meet for the tools but stay for the people. Consider attending and inviting your team, even if you have participated in a previous event.
Seats are limited, pick up your Pass today. Choose whether to access only the event or stay for dinner with us. The Pass also entitles you to download the OKR Toolkit for immediate use with your team.
Purchasing the Pass in advance will help us better manage the event. Please know that you can count on a full refund should you have a setback. Thank you in advance for your support.
February’s Must Read
The one business asset you can’t buy. In this article I discuss the importance of corporate strategy. I emphasize that although many companies try to buy strategy consulting, true effectiveness lies in the internal ability to develop strategies suited to specific needs and ability to execute them. I critique the traditional business model of strategy consulting firms and offer a reflection on the essential collaboration between internal teams and innovative tools for more engaging and productive strategic planning.
If Amadeus had OKRs (ChatGPT vs. Gemini). In this article, I explore the idea of applying Objective and Key Results (OKR) to Amadeus, the artistic director of the Sanremo Festival. To do so, I asked artificial intelligence for help by comparing the effectiveness of ChatGPT versus Gemini in strategic planning. It is a provocation on how AI can support leadership work and contribute to the evolution of leadership roles.
The framework for change and how to implement it with tools from MAKE PROGRESS. In this note I provide a guide to organizational change through the principles that have guided the work of MAKE PROGRESS and how our brains work.
