Hey, welcome to 2023, the magic year!
- 23 is a happy number;
- 23 are Euclid’s definitions of geometry;
- 23 are the chromosomes that give birth to life;
- Twenty-three seconds is the time it takes blood to go around the entire body;
- 23.5 degrees is the inclination of the Earth
- Dec. 23, I delivered the second part of MAKE PROGRESS with OKRs
If you ask chatGPT or search YouTube you might find a lot more evidence that 23 is a badass number-Hollywood even made a movie about it, here’s the trailer-but of course these are all fun coincidences. Our brains are fascinated by it: it’s called apophenia, we like to put our thoughts in order in the comfort of recurring patterns-even if they are not true.
But back to reality. The only numbers that matter are the ones you can influence, and there is no better time to assess how the past year has gone, celebrate successes, and head expeditiously toward new goals than this one.
The 2022 of STRTGY
It has been a really busy year! Here are some numbers that represent this community and the impact it has generated.
Newsletter growth
The number of active newsletter subscribers has grown by 49% since 2021. A sign that more and more executives and professionals are finding the topics addressed interesting and, judging by the emails I receive, of the real need to manage organizations radically differently.

In 2022 we held 11 live events with 11 different guests-almost one per month! – in which 1455 people participated!
Every time it is an incredible thrill to click on the “Admit all” button in Zoom and see our faces appear in the grid. All close together with amazing professionals capable of inspiring our work. What brings us together? The desire to learn from the best.

Impact
In 2022 I published about 85,000 words of which 96% printed only paper in Make Progress with OKRs. It is not a book on how OKRs work. But on how to make OKRs work in the enterprise. (Perhaps) The most pragmatic handbook for any leader who needs a system for managing growth and innovation without compromising their vision and their teams’ quality of life.
The Flacowski team and I are finalizing the corrections to get it on your desk as soon as possible!
This note-which is also the one with the highest open rate ever! – explains how the project came about, the stages, the reason for the delay in going to print, but also why you should secure copy and access original techniques and templates.
In 2022 we added 37 executives-to the pioneers of 2021-among the leaders who decided to make their organizations mission-driven. 218 hours of OKR coaching during which we wrote 103 goals that achieved an average progress of 70%.
But the news that makes me most proud is that 100% of them will continue to use OKRs to lead their companies in 2023!
